Board applicants 2027
A lot of water has again gone through the rapids of Tammerkoski and it is time to elect a new board for the Teekkari Union of Tampere. The applicants are in the same order where they submitted the application form. New board will be elected in the Teekkari Council’s fall meeting, 10.11. at 17 in the room TB103. But furthermore, here comes the applicants:
1. Valtteri Väistö, 3rd year, Bioner
Hellohello, my name is Valtteri and I'm applying to the board of TT for the position of Minister of Culture. I am super interested in Wappu and the anniversary gala of TT would also be really fun to organize😛😛
I have a lot of experience in organizing events: I have worked as the Event Responsible of Bioner this year and as an Event Officer during the previous year. In addition, I have worked in a few working groups, I have volunteered actively and I've been a part of the Council of Representatives of TREY. Through those experiences I've gotten a wide view of student organizational activities in Tampere.
I am also a pretty energetic and active person, which I believe to be a good property for the Minister of Culture. I have also scheduled my studies to be really light during the spring, so I will have enough time for student organization activities :D
BRING OUT THE LOBSTER!!! BRING OUT THE WHOLE OCEAN YEAAAAHHHH
2. Kaapo Loikkanen, 3rd year, Autek
Hi,
Being involved in fuksi activities at Tampere University for the past year and a half has taught me a lot, and that is why I am very excited to apply for the fuksimestari position at Tampereen Teekkarit.
I started out as a fuksitoimari for half a year, and after that, I took the lead as fuksivastaava for the past year. Because of this, I know exactly what goes into planning fuksi events, welcoming new students, and building a great team spirit among fuksis.
During my time as fuksivastaava, I’ve learned how to handle bigger responsibilities, lead a team, and plan things ahead of time. I’d love to bring this experience to the fuksimestari role and help make sure the teekkari fuksis have an amazing, safe, and well-organized year.
Best regards,
Kaapo Loikkanen
3. Rauha-Maaria Kangas, 3rd year, TARAKI
Hello! I’m Rauha-Maaria, better known as “Rauhki”. I’m currently a third-year TARAKI student, and I’m applying for the position of Minister of Fuksis! (Yay!) I’ve served as TARAKI’s Fuksi Officer and now as Fuksi Captain. These roles have made me very familiar with the Fuksi Council’s activities, practices and responsibilities. I’m still full of enthusiasm and eager to continue working with fuksis in excellent company, but on a slightly larger scale, for the benefit of the entire teekkari community!
Teekkari culture has become an important part of my student life, and fuksi activities are especially close to my heart. <3 My own fuksi year was one of the best years of my life so far, and I’d love to spread that joy to new fuksis on a wider scale. Introducing new students to teekkari culture and everything it has to offer, as well as organising events for fuksis, would be absolutely amazing!
My previous roles have given me a solid foundation for the position, and I’d love to develop the Fuksi Council’s activities and strengthen its sense of community for the benefit of all teekkaris in Tampere. I’d take on the role with plenty of enthusiasm and an open mind!
Best wishes,
Rauhki <3
4. Ada Pietiläinen, 6th year, TARAKI
Hi! I’m Ada, a sixth-year civil engineering student. I’m applying for the Communications Officer position because I’m not ready to say goodbye to student life just yet! As my other student organisation commitments are winding down alongside my studies, I still have the time and enthusiasm for one more amazing role before retiring from student life and entering the corporate rat race.
I’m currently working on my master’s thesis and wrapping up my last courses. Since my studies are coming to an end, this is my last chance to get involved in such an awesome role!
I’ve been involved in several student organisations, including the Teekkari Council, TREY’s Representative Council, TARAKI’s board and Liittymä’s board, where I’ve served as secretary, corporate relations coordinator, social media coordinator and even chairperson. I’ve also held other organisational roles, so I’ve gained plenty of experience and responsibility. In other words, I’ve been involved in quite a lot — you could say I’m pretty active!
Chances are, I’m already a familiar face from various student events. As a seasoned superfuksi, I’ve apparently earned a reputation for being “everywhere, all the time” — and I’ll take that as a compliment! Student life has given me lots of experience, great friends and, above all, the enthusiasm to make our community even better.
My strengths include being punctual, reliable and conscientious. My friends would probably add a good sense of humour, too. I love coming up with ideas and making things happen, and I’m always ready to roll up my sleeves when there’s work to be done.
All in all, I have plenty of experience and enthusiasm to bring to this role. I’d love to contribute as Communications Officer and help make student life just as amazing for others as it has been for me. I hope I get the chance to take on this role and give it my all!
5. Matti Leinonen, 4th year, YKI
Greetings! Here writes Matti Leinonen, at least to the people of YKI a hopefully familiar face from guild activities and events. I am applying for the positions of Master of Culture and Master of Organizations on the Board of Tampereen Teekkarit. The priority order is Master of Culture first and Master of Organizations second, mainly because I feel I have more to offer for the Culture role based on my experience.
Speaking of experience, I've gathered a fair amount of it over the years, even leaving bungee jumping off the list. A little listing:
• 2024: Secretary of YKI and Coffee:Machine of Exergia
• 2025: Events Representative of YKI and Secretary/Vice Chair of Exergia
• 2026: Chair of YKI and Secretary of Platine
In addition to these positions, noteworthy experiences include YKI's anniversary celebration committee in 2025-2026 and various volunteer roles, such as working as a steward at MM Kyykkä and during Wappu. On top of that, there's the obligatory mention of NCO training in the Defence Forces, as well as numerous teams and committees within YKI. Quite a variety of experience I have accumulated over the years.
What motivates me most in organizational work is being able to create things that people genuinely enjoy. Personally, I've always greatly enjoyed Wappu, especially my own Fuksiwappu, as well as anniversary celebrations. Because of that, the Master of Culture position feels like the most natural fit for me. I already have a fair amount of experience organizing events and celebrations, so I'd like to think I have a realistic idea of what I'm getting into. After this year's term as Chair, it would also be nice to focus on events and other more visible activities for a change.
The Master of Organizations position also seems quite interesting. I would genuinely enjoy helping member organizations by distributing resources and enabling their activities. During the current year, I have become familiar with the Guild Council and have enjoyed being part of it, and I believe I would be well suited to leading it. I also think recognition culture is one of the best organizational cultures there is, since it provides an opportunity to acknowledge and thank people for the often underappreciated work they do within student organizations.
Outside of organizational activities, I spend my time at the guildroom, indoorclimbing, training Nogi, and being with my partner. Academically, things seem quite relaxed as well. I am leaning towards taking three years for my master's after completing my bachelor's in three years, so I have both the time and the resources to dedicate to organizational responsibilities. As a person, I get along easily with different kinds of people, take responsibility when needed, and see tasks through to completion.
So, kovaa ajoa! (it really doesn’t translate :D)
6. Mikael Patey, 3rd year, Robo
Moro, my name is Mikael! I'm currently in the third year of my studies in robotics, hoping to complete my bachelor's some time next year. I'm applying for the position of Yritysmestari for the 2027 board of the Teekkari Union of Tampere.
I've been an active member of my home guild, the Guild of Robotics (Robo), ever since it's foundation in 2023, and consequently I'm serving my 3rd year as a member of the board. I've always been interested in student-corporate affairs, which is why I've stayed in that sector during my time as a board member, serving as an officer during my first year and then as the head of corporate affairs for the past two years. Robo's corporate journey essentially started from zero and over the past three years has been developed to a much higher standard, which has garnered a lot of positive feedback from inside and outside of the guild.
The focus of my activity has obviously been at Robo for a while now, but now I feel the time is right to direct my energy somewhere else and specifically to the Teekkari Union of Tampere. I'd like to participate in the affairs of a much larger organization, where the effects of my work span across all guilds instead of just one. However, I'm still staying in the same field I know I excel in and where I have accumulated significant experience during the last three years. I'm especially interested in the delightful networking opportunities this role offers. I'd also like to develop the corporate council's (YN) operations, as I've had the possibility to witness its operation quite closely over the last two years. However, I find it extremely important that the Teekkari Union doesn't try to compete for the same companies and opportunities that the guilds already have to compete over with each other. Instead, it's important that all guilds, no matter their size, can flourish in the same environment.
My experience in corporate affairs, understanding of the inner workings of student-corporate relationships and the development of corporate operations give me a strong foundation to perform in this position. This is why I'm applying now, as I have the eagerness and experience to succeed in this role. Overall, this role is essentially the same one I've held for the last two years, only on a much larger scale. It would be awesome to have the opportunity to be a part of building the next chapter of Teekkari culture with corporate partners for the betterment of the community as a whole.
7. Ninni Nykänen, 3rd year, Bioner
Teekkari culture is that outwardly mysterious student culture filled with tasselled caps, patches, colorful overalls, and peculiar words that everyone else seems to know. For many new students, these traditions can feel unfamiliar, and that is exactly why I am applying for the position of Minister of Fuksis. Hi! I'm Ninni, a third-year student from Bioner and currently serving as Bioner's fuksi captain until the end of the year.
The past few years in Hervanta have been the best years of my life, and I have had the opportunity to become part of a community I could never have dreamed of belonging to. I first got involved in student organization activities as an overalls coordinator, secretary, and tutor, and later as Bioner’s fuksi captain. Alongside my role as fuksi captain, I write a blog about teekkari culture and the fuksi experience for Tampere University's Student Ambassador platform. During the coming year, I will also be writing about tutoring, how to be fuksi captain, and student organization activities.
Through fuksi activities, I want every new student to feel that they belong, that they have a place within Tampere Teekkarit and the wider teekkari community. Student organization work has given me a lot, and through my own contributions I have been able to help create and develop an active, inclusive, and more equal teekkari culture. However, I dream of something bigger. I dream of the Teekkari Union of Tampere and the role of Minister of Fuksis. I dream of being able to work more actively across guild boundaries and to create meaningful activities for every fuksi in Hervanta, regardless of their guild. As Minister of Fuksis, I would be persistent, courageous, creative, and responsible, and I would be present both for the Fuksi Council and for the fuksis themselves.
As Minister of Fuksis, I would have the opportunity to preserve traditions while also creating new ones and developing existing practices. At the Teekkari Union of Tampere, activities are organized for the entire community, for thousands of people, which sounds like a fascinating challenge that I am ready to take on. Through my work, I hope to leave a lasting mark on Tampere’s teekkari culture.
8. Sumu Sirén, 6th year, Bioner
Hi!
I'm Sumu, a sixth-year biomedical engineering student, and I'm running for Chair of Tampere Teekkarit for 2027.
The spirit of being a teekkari captured me already during my first year, and since then I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of roles within the Tampere student community. My experience includes serving as Chair of the Biomedical engineering Guild Bioner, working in tutoring and first-year student activities, advocating for educational affairs, and holding positions within the Student Union of Tampere University both as a board member and as a specialist. In addition, I have been involved in communications, event production, graphic design, and promoting the visibility of engineering students and disciplines.
As a leader, I am approachable, goal-oriented, and collaborative. I believe in open communication, strong project management, and the idea that the best results are achieved when people feel heard and valued. It is important to me to help build a community where everyone can find their own place within the teekkari community.
I am running for Chair of Tampere Teekkarit because I want to give back to the community that has given me so much. I want to help build an even stronger, more visible, and more connected teekkari community in Tampere.
9. Topias Berg, 4th year, Autek
Hello there!
I'm Topias, a fourth-year Automation student. I'm from Ulvila and I ended up in Tampere after a year or so living elsewhere. My hobbies include Taekwon-Do and, of course, jogging, and I also have a gym membership. I spend my free time doing student organization work and gaming. I enjoy learning about history, watching movies, and reading Tolkien's works. Oh and I want a cat.
I first got involved in student organizations during my freshman year as a member of Autek's corporate relations team. In my second year, I continued as the Head of Corporate Relations, while also taking on a few other roles in different organizations. This year, I've had the opportunity to serve as the Chair of Autek, which has played a huge part in making this year unforgettable. The role has taught me a lot, and I've enjoyed it so much that I want to continue in a similarly rewarding and educational position. I wanted something more challenging, so applying for the Board of Tampereen Teekkarit was an obvious decision for me. After getting to know the different board positions throughout the year, and looking into them more closely this autumn, I've decided to apply for the position of Chair.
I believe that the role of Chair would allow me to make the best use of my strengths in ways that I support the rest of the board. I want to help move Tampereen Teekkarit forward, and I'm excited about the opportunity to work alongside other enthusiastic board members. Student organization work inspires me to keep moving forward, and I want to keep giving something back to the community.
Thank you bye!
10. Mikko Pousi, 5th year, TaSciEn
Hi, I am Mikko, a fifth year physics student focused on photonics and electronics. I am originally from TaSciEn, whose events you can still actively find me.
I have been active in association work in Tampere since my fuksi year. I have gotten experience especially from my guilds financial sector, the Fuksicouncil and from the current year from the Teekkari Section, where I am acting as an events responsible.
The idea to apply for Minister of Teekkaries came from my work in the Teekkari Section this year. I have greatly enjoyed my time and would like to continue the work and challenge myself with new and bigger things at the same time.
11. Paulus Tukia, 6th year, Hiukkanen
Hey everyone! I’m Paulus, and I’d be absolutely thrilled to serve on the board of Teekkari Union of Tampere in 2027 as the Minister of Administrations.
I’m a sixth-year Energy Engineering student from YKI and somewhat of a student active. I also have a bit of a background at Hiukkanen, where I completed my bachelor’s thesis and have been involved in the board for a few years now. I was planning to focus on my studies this year but you can't teach an old dog new tricks and I started to work on all sorts of things. At Hiukkanen, I’ve served as the TEK Guild Liaison and have also been involved in updating the guild’s strategy and creating entirely new financial plans. Through YKI, I’ve had the opportunity to represent my new home guild in the Teekkari Council, and became its Chairperson. I’ve also been able to put my experience in both guilds to use by serving as a study advisor at both Hiukkanen and YKI. Somewhere along the way this autumn, I started to have a feeling that I still have to do some voluntary work while in this school.. My goal is to put all the experience I’ve accumulated to good use for the benefit of the wider community, while taking on responsibilities that would also challenge me. The answer was pretty obvious.
So why Minister of Administrations? Over the years and through my various positions, I’ve developed into what you might call a bureaucracy enthusiast. If there are meetings to attend or administrative documents to update, I’m usually more than happy to get involved.
There are several things that motivate me about this position next year. Through my work in the Teekkari Council this year, I’ve had the chance to see how the Teekkari Union operates from the Council’s perspective, and I’d be interested in contributing to the Union from another perspective. Next year, I’d like to encourage Council members to get involved outside the Council itself, particularly with the upcoming TREY council of representative elections. Beyond the Council, I want to pay attention to the Teekkarisauna and its upkeep. During my studies, I’ve had the chance to see the sauna both before and after its renovation. It’s extremely important to me that we continue to have a sauna for our events in the future, and that will only be possible if we take good care of it. Ultimately, as a more senior student, what matters most to me is helping develop and preserve Teekkari culture in Tampere, so that younger students can also experience everything this community has given me.
12. Petri Sahrakorpi, 3rd year, Robo
Well hello!
I’m Petri Sahrakorpi, a third-year robotics student. In the world of associations, you easily notice that they tend to lead you to places you never expect. After a year of being the chair of Robo, it’s hard to let go of this community, and I dream of being able to do something for the community that has done so much for me these past years.
The feeling of being involved in associations on the ground level is something very dear to me, and i feel like i have much to give, be that guiding Kiltaneuvosto, renting goods to associations, or even just being a visible helper in the associations field.
13. Salla Vieras, 4th year, Hiukkanen
Hi I'm Salla Vieras, a fourth-year student from Hiukkanen and I was Freshman Officer for 25-26. I am applying for the position of Minister of Fuksis of Tampereen Teekkarit because I want to help shape the freshman experience, strengthen the sense of community within the teekkari culture, and further develop my own skills through the role. My involvement in fuksi activities began as a tutor and continued as a Fuksi Officer, where I had the opportunity to develop activities for fuksis together with the team. Through these roles, I discovered that I enjoy taking responsibility, working toward shared goals, and being part of a motivated team. The community and friendships formed through the committee were especially meaningful to me, which is why I would like to focus on team spirit and community building within the Fuksineuvosto. As Annual Ball Officer, I gained experience in event organization, project management, and team leadership. As Social Media Officer, I learned the importance of clear, accessible, and timely communication. These roles have strengthened my organizational skills and taught me the value of effective teamwork. I consider myself approachable, enthusiastic, and positive. I enjoy meeting new people, listening to different perspectives, and working with diverse groups. I welcome feedback as an opportunity to learn and grow, while also being able to explain and justify my decisions when needed. Through my own actions, I hope to help create the same kind of welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all.
14. Vilkku Peltomäki, 5th year, TamArk
Hi! I’m Vilkku, an architecture student from TamArk. I’ve been involved with my own guild’s operations for a long time now as well as the different councils of Tampereen Teekkarit, and now I feel like I would have the time and passion to be a part of the Board of Tampereen Teekkarit!
I’m primarily applying for the positions of Hallintomestari and Viestintämestari. I’m applying for the board because it’d be amazing to be able to be a part of upkeeping, fostering and developing the Teekkari-culture of Tampere. With the position of Hallintomestari I’m especially interested in working in the heart of the board, running the Teekkari council, acting as a secretary of meetings, and organizing graduation events. As the Viestintämestari I’m especially interested in being in the know of everything going on, of the multi-channel and multilingual communications and taking care of the website and social media channels. I’m also very keen on creating graphics for events and in my free time I spend time creating art and graphic design for fun.
I was/am a part of the Teekkari council this year, and I find the work of the council very interesting and important. Because of this it would be neat to be able to run the council. I enjoy attending meetings and leading conversations comes naturally to me. I find that the Teekkari council operates well, but if there was something I would want to improve on, it’d be to create more incentive for members to join the meetings and simplify the communications between the board and the council.
I’m a highly organized person and I enjoy multitasking multiple projects. I tend to juggle quite a lot of tasks at once, but I’ve managed it all so far! I’m responsible and resourceful and tend to always finish what I started. My first touch in to being a part of an organization’s board was already in middle school, when I was a member of the board for my scoutorganization for many years. There I was often in charge of writing up meeting notes or reviewing the minutes of earliermeetings. I enjoy being the secretary of meetings, documentation, and organization of files.
I’ve been a part of my own guilds council ever since I was a fuksi as the kitchen’s aid, equality-officer and international fuksi officer. I’ve also been a tutor for two years, both for national and international fuksis. Therefore, I’m already very acquainted with board work and still have a lot of passion and fire for it! As the equality-officer, I reformed our guild’s equality plan, which required me to process the long document while being in constant communication with the council about the updates.
As the international fuksi officer I’ve been in charge of both the international and national masters’ fuksis and their tutors. As a fuksi officer and during my two years of tutoring I’ve gotten to organize tens of fuksievents. This year I’ve also been a part of the anniversary gala team, which meant learning to organize bigger events.
This year I got to be a part of the Tampereen Teekkaris’ International Council, where I got to design the representative logo for the council. In the International Council I’ve gotten to be a part of developing the bilingual program of TT and for example organizing the first ever international Teekkarisauna event! In the board I’d like to further improve the operation of TT to be more approachable for both national and international students.
For the role of the Viestintämestari I have concrete work experience at my summer job as a communications officer. I’m familiar and comfortable with multichannel communications, and I’m not scared of learning new systems either, such as updating new kinds of emailing lists.
Outside of guild responsibilities I spend time at home with my cats, knitting, gaming, and at sports practice. However, I’m ready to commit my all to board work, and as I’ve heard someone smart once say, the more you give to your year on the board, the more it gives back to you.
It’d be wonderful to be a part of upkeeping the Teekkari culture of Tampere and be a part of the board next year.
Thank you for your time!
15. Emmi Tulus, 5th year, Urbanum
Hemuli in da house, eli moi!
I’m Emmi Tulus, a fifth-year student at Urbanum, and I’m applying to be Teekkarimestari to continue my path in the Teekkari section. Teekkari culture is close to my heart.
Why am I applying?
I want to keep teekkari culture alive and pass it on to the new generation. In particular, I want to strengthen singing culture and the events around it, and develop the teekkari museum so that our traditions and their history are preserved and visible to everyone. I also want to bring tempaus culture into the spotlight and encourage the guilds to use the tempaus fund, which lowers the threshold for getting the events off the ground.
My qualifications
Two years in the Teekkari section as event responsible and tempaus responsible
At Urbanum: event officer, master of ceremonies at the annual celebration, event coordinator and Hervantapelimestar
Contacts with other teekkari towns have been a big part of my time in the section
Leadership experience also as a site manager at the City of Porvoo
I know the rules for teekkari cap permits well. I will familiarise myself thoroughly with cap ordering if I’m elected.
I’m not a teekkari myself, but I meet the association’s bylaw requirement for board membership. Teekkari culture has been a big part of my student life, and I want to keep promoting it in the future.
16. Akseli Keisu, 4th year, YKI
Hi
I’m Akseli, a fourth-year Energy and Process Engineering student from YKI, and I’m applying for the position of Talousmestari of Tampereen Teekkarit for 2027. I’m a pretty active participant in student activities, so if we haven’t met yet, you might run into me at events or in the YKI guild room.
I’ve become familiar with finances through two years of student organization work. This year I’m serving as Treasurer of YKI, and last year I was Treasurer of Exergia ry. Over these two years, I’ve become very familiar with the core tasks of a treasurer.
In my view, the most important things in an organization’s finances are clear and transparent cash flow, up-to-date bookkeeping, and a financially sustainable foundation. As Talousmestari, I would like to keep the finances of Tampereen Teekkarit stable and clear, and make sure that resources go where they benefit the teekkari community the most.
In addition to my treasurer roles, I’ve gained experience in other organizational work, which has given me a comprehensive understanding of how student organizations operate. This year I’m Chair of Exergia, and last year I was YKI’s IT Officer. I’ve also been the main organizer of Energiateekkaripäivät and Exergia’s 45th anniversary ball, and I’ve been part of YKI’s annual ball team.
Teekkari culture has been the best part of my time as a student. I want future generations of teekkaris to enjoy the same community that I have. That’s why I think it’s important to manage the finances with a long-term view and to responsibly develop activities such as investing, so they support the organization’s operations in the future as well. As Talousmestari, I want to do my part to ensure that Tampereen Teekkarit has the resources to maintain traditions, organize events that bring the community together, and develop its activities so that teekkari culture can thrive for years to come.
17. Nella Hjelt, 4th year, Bioner
Do YOU know why I would be a good minister of communications? Let’s go find out!
Nella here! Originally I started my studies at Robo and now my path is at Bioner. I have gotten to do social media in my club UrOs and at Robo where I have been communications responsible and vice chair this year. But now I want to continue learning and growing in TT board and in great company!
You can recognise me from a big smile and red bull in my hand :D
18. Janne Laxén, 4th year, TARAKI
Hello, I'm Janne, a fourth year student, nowadays at civil engineering. I am applying for the money man of TT. I have prior treasurer experience from Urbanum and INTO. It would be a pleasure work on important things for the greater teekkari community!
19. Inka Rautio, 4th year, Man@ger
Hi everyone!
I’m Inka, a fourth-year teekkari currently studying Information and Knowledge Management, after previously studying Automation Engineering. I’m applying for the roles of Kultturimestari and Yritysmestari because I’d love to work together with others to create and shape the culture of our entire community. I also feel that my diverse work and student organization experience has given me a solid foundation for either role. I’m not one to get scared off when things get busy or the pressure starts to build!
Since my freshman year, I’ve been involved in Autek’s board, first as Communications Officer, then as Head of educational affairs, and most recently as Vice Chair. It was through my work at Autek that I first discovered my passion for student organization activities. In addition to guild activities, I’ve also been actively involved in club activities for the past two years, where I’ve had the chance to organize a wide variety of events. For example, I’ve been part of the communications and corporate relations teams for Naisteekkaripäivät from 2025 to 2027, and working on this event has really helped me get familiar with project work. Nearly three years of experience in various roles have given me plenty of confidence to step into just about any pair of shoes!
Student organization activities are truly close to my heart, and I believe it’s now the right time to put on my big-girl boots and head for bigger pastures!
