Tampereen Teekkarit ry is looking for Wappu Secretaries to join the Wappu Team and help organize the Tampere Teekkari Wappu!

Have you always wanted to leave your mark on Wappu? Are you interested in organizing large, traditional events? Do the rapids of Tammerkoski call to you, and would you like to jump in during Wappu? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the position of Wappu Secretary is just for you!
The Wappu Secretaries are part of the Wappu Team, which is responsible for organizing Suomen suurin Wappu (Finland’s largest Wappu) in general. In addition, the Wappu Secretaries organize the traditional Teekkari events — the Capping Ceremony, the Freshman Parade, and the Teekkarikaste— together with the Minister of Culture. The project takes place from January to May 2026.
The Wappu Secretaries’ responsibilities include:
Organizing the Capping Ceremony, Freshman Parade, and Teekkarikaste together with the Minister of Culture
Organizing Suomen suurin Wappu as part of the Wappu Team
Representing at Wappu events and creating Wappu spirit
We expect the selected candidates to have:
Public speaking skills and clear oral and written communication
Good ideas for developing Wappu
Teekkari spirit and teamwork skills
Organizational and collaboration abilities, as well as systematic working habits
Initiative and creativity
It is also considered an advantage if you have:
Previous experience in event organization
Fluent Finnish and English skills
Wappu Secretaries will receive a project-based compensation of €450 per secretary. There may be an increase to the compensation next year, and the exact amount will be confirmed before interviews.
